La langue Logo ou Logoti est une langue tonale, parlée dans la partie nord-est de la République démocratique du Congo, entre les rivières Ituri et Wele.
Les sœurs Mozley
L'African Inland Mission (AIM) entreprit de travailler avec le peuple logo. Les sœurs Mary et Elizabeth Mozley commencèrent leur travail en tant que missionnaire dans cette région. Elles naquirent en Angleterre, filles du révérend Francis Woodgate Mozley, un vicaire anglican, et de sa femme Maude Leigh Mozley. Mary Mozley naquit en 1887, Catherine en 1888 et Elizabeth en 1893.
Les évangiles en Logo
Mary Mozley suivit une formation d'infirmière et partit en Afrique en tant que missionnaire pour L'African Inland Mission (AIM) en 1914. Elle commença à travailler avec le peuple Logo en 1916. Elle apprit la langue Logo et fut la première personne à mettre la langue à l'écrit. Elle découvrit qu'il y avait quatre dialectes. Elle commença à traduire des versets de la Bible ainsi que le « Notre Père ». Lors d’un congé en Angleterre, Mlle Mozley fut aidée par le révérend William Arthur Crabtree, un expert ougandais en langues africaines, qui suggéra qu'elle traduise l'Évangile de Marc. À son retour en Afrique, elle traduisit l'Évangile de Marc dans le dialecte le plus utilisé de la langue Logo. Elle mourut à Aba au Congo belge le 4 décembre 1923, à l'âge de 36 ans, avant l'impression du livre.
L'Évangile de Marc fut amené à la presse par sa sœur Catherine Spencer Miller et W.A. Crabtree de la Church Missionary Society (CMS). Leur mère, Maude Leigh Mozley, couvrit le coût de l’édition en souvenir de sa fille Mary et de son mari, tous deux décédés en 1923. L’évangile de Marc en Logo fut imprimé par la British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) en août 1924. La vie de Mary fut racontée dans “The Obedience of Faith - Mary Mozley Pioneer Missionary to Congo” (« L'obéissance de la foi - Mary Mozley Pionnière missionnaire au Congo») par sa sœur Catherine Miller et publiée pour la première fois en 1926. Les livres imprimés furent ensuite envoyés au Congo.
Elizabeth Mozley continua le travail de Mary et termina l'Évangile de Matthieu, qui fut imprimé par la British and Foreign Bible Society en 1927.

The Logo or Logoti language is a tonal language, spoken in the north-eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, between the rivers Ituri and Wele.
Mozley Sisters
The African Inland Mission (AIM) started working with the Logo people. Two sisters called Mary and Elizabeth Mozley, were the A.I.M. missionaries who started mission work in that district. They were all born in England, children of Rev. Francis Woodgate Mozley, who as an Anglican vicar, and his wife Maude Leigh Mozley. Mary Mozley was born in 1887, Catherine in 1888, and Elizabeth in 1893.
Logo Gospels
Mary Mozley trained as a nurse. She went to Africa as a missionary with the Africa Inland Mission in 1914. She started working with the Logo people in 1916. She learnt the Logo language and was the first person to reduce it to writing. She found that there were four dialects. She started to translate isolated verses of Scripture, and the Lord's Prayer. While in England on furlough Miss Mozley was helped by Rev. William Arthur Crabtree, formerly of Uganda, and an expert in African languages. He suggested that she should translate Mark's Gospel. When she returned to Africa she translated Mark's Gospel, into the most widely used dialect of the Logo language. She died in Aba in the Belgian Congo on December 4th, 1923, aged 36, before the book was printed.
The Gospel of Mark was seen through the press by her sister Catherine Spencer Miller and W.A. Crabtree of the Church Missionary Society (CMS). Their mother Maude Leigh Mozley, paid for this edition as a memorial to her daughter Mary and her late husband, who had both died in 1923. The Logo Gospel of Mark was printed by the British and Foreign Bible Society in August 1924. The story is told in “The Obedience of Faith - Mary Mozley Pioneer Missionary to Congo” by her sister Catherine Miller, first published in 1926. The printed books were then sent to the Congo.
Elizabeth Mozley continued the work and she completed the Gospel of Matthew, which was printed by the British and Foreign Bible Society in 1927.
