This Bible text is a translation from 2005 (NT) and 2010 (OT), the entire translation being published in October 2011.

A completely concordant translation does not exist. Both word order, vocabulary and grammar makes it impossible to translate "word by word" from the original languages. Therefore, all translations will be idiomatic to a greater or lesser degree. It is correct to say that the Norwegian Bible Society's translation from 1978/85 is more idiomatic than the other Norwegian translations. On the other hand, "Bibel 2011" is based rather upon a concordant translation principle, where the translators aim to reproduce the biblical texts as close to the original as possible.

Denne bibelteksten er en oversettelse fra 2005 (NT) og 2010 (GT), der hele oversettelsen utgis i oktober 2011.

En fullstendig konkordant oversettelse finnes ikke. Både ordstilling, ordforråd og grammatikk gjør det umulig å oversette ”ord for ord” fra grunnspråkene. Derfor vil alle bibeloversettelser være idiomatiske i større eller mindre grad. Men det er likevel riktig å si at Bibelselskapets oversettelse fra 1978/85 er idiomatisk i større grad enn de andre norske oversettelsene. Bibel 2011 baserer seg derimot på et mer konkordant oversettelsesprinsipp, der oversetterne søker å gjengi de bibelske grunntekstene så nært om mulig.
