Biblia cu Trimiteri Cornilescu a fost publicat întâia oară în 1924. Schimbări și corecturi minore au fost introduse succesiv până în 1928, când textul a ajuns la o formă stabilă. După 1990, în edițiile tipărite fără aprobarea British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) au fost introduse diverse schimbări ortografice. Versiunea Cornilescu rămâne cea mai populară Biblie folosită de comunitatea evanghelică vorbitoare de limbă română din România și din diaspora. Dumitru Cornilescu tradus Biblia într-o limbă accesibilă, care continuă să fie folosită și îndrăgită până astăzi. Traducerea este opera lui Dumitru Cornilescu, ierodiacon ortodox care ulterior a devenit slujitor evanghelic. Traducerea a fost făcută în colaborare cu BFBS, având ca bază Biblia Cornilescu publicată în 1921. Cornilescu a murit în Elveția în 1975. Astăzi, textul lui Cornilescu este în custodia Societății Biblice Interconfesionale din România (SBIR), care continuă activitatea BFBS în România.

Cornilescu Bible
The Cornilescu Reference Bible was first published in 1924. Minor revisions and corrections were introduced till 1928, when the text reached a stable form. After 1990, in the editions printed without the approval of the British and Foreign Bible Society (BFBS) various spelling changes were introduced. The Cornilescu Bible continues to be the most popular version used by the Romanian speaking evangelical community in Romania and in the Diaspora. Dumitru Cornilescu translated the Bible into a colloquial modern form of Romanian that is still used and loved today. The Bible was produced by Dumitru Cornilescu, who was an Orthodox hierodeacon and later became an evangelical minister. The translation was done in co-operation with the BFBS, taking as a basis the Cornilescu Bible published in 1921. Cornilescu died in Switzerland in 1975. Today the Cornilescu text is maintained by the Interconfessional Bible Society of Romania (SBIR) which continues the work of the BFBS in Romania.
